It’s been really hot lately and I’ve gotten too tired to worry too much about my lack of employment. I actually took a 3 hour nap today but that may have been due to lack of caffeine intake. Anyhow, I’ve somehow relieved the tedium and heat by watching DVD’s, mainly Lord of the Rings and noticed stuff that I don’t think I noticed before:
- Feet – Maybe I’m projecting but I think my feet look like the Hobbits’ feet.
- Hair - All the protagonists had full head of hair and most of the antagonist (like the Orcs, Smeagol) didn’t really have hair. Which reminded me of a funny moment in my short time last year @ the law firm. The head of the staffers was talking to a secretary about how there were hardly any bald men at the firm (IMO, he was bald since he had the combination of male pattern baldness, receding hairline and a comb-over but he apparently didn’t think he was bald), which he found unique. The secretary said no, So & So are bald right here on this floor. He responded by saying, “No, So has a thick head of hair.” Now, does this really look like a full head of hair?
(This person also sported the male pattern baldness so that in the afternoons, the sun rays bounced off his scalp.)
The secretary quickly agreed with him since the guy seemed to think baldness = complete alopecia. Delusion may be bliss.
